Early Bird Thoughts

Hey y’all!

It’s the holiday season. Christmas (& New Years) have snuck up on us again. Which don’t get me wrong , I love the holiday season. Everything is so pretty covered in snow and I love seeing the decorations and pretty lights.

But, it’s also when my mom comes to visit, sometimes (if she doesn’t visit now, then she’ll come visit close to the kids birthdays). And that honestly makes me nervous and throws my anxiety for a super loop.

I just feel like she’s always super judgey and overly critical of everything. Our style of parenting, my housekeeping, the fact that we live in the middle of nowhere, our lifestyle in general.

I’m hoping this time it’ll be different since we’re in a bigger house and actually have the space for all our stuff. But I don’t know. Even through video chats at the new house, she still tends to be a little critical.

I’m going to try and stay positive that this time will be different though. We are all excited for the road trip to go pick up her and our old roommate (he’s also spending Christmas and New Years with us).

Is anyone else’s parents (or any family member in general) super judgemental of your life style? How do y’all deal with them?

Tips and tricks would be super helpful to keep my anxiety and stress levels down. Thanks in advanced!

XOXOX
