Property Planning Process Part 1

Hey guys!

So I’m working on a remodel plan for the property Andy and I are going to try and buy. Let me just say finding the right software [that’s free to use] is proving to be a little bit harder than I expected.

There are so many different types of software available [both free and paid] for planning a remodeling project, but none that I have tried so far are fitting into what I need. Partially, I think, because I don’t know the exact [or even estimated] dimensions of the building. But I’m going to keep looking.

The way I’m thinking, is that if I can show a plan on what we want to do it might convince the owner a little to want to sell to us. Maybe, having a visual [kind of like when realtors stage homes for the prospective buyers to vision it with furniture inside] will work in our favor.

I don’t know.

I guess the point of this post is just for me to throw out my ideas [and I did in fact promise to keep you all in the lop through the whole process].

I’m also researching alternate power sources to try avoiding the normal form of getting electricity and maybe produce a lower power “bill”. Andy thought of a couple, but I’ve found one that might be even better [maybe, I’m still doing further research]. It’s called ‘biomass power’. It’s electricity made from renewable organic waste that would normally just be dumped into landfills, openly burned, or left for fodder for forest fires.

I’ve known that creating power from renewable waste was a thing, but I’ve never really looked into it before. I just assumed it was too much information to process at one time….and I think [now having looked into it] I was probably right. LOL.

This is feeling like it’s going to be one of the most stressful things I’ve ever worked on. But also [when it’s finished in the end- if it goes the way we plan] it will be one of the most amazing and rewarding projects I’ve ever been apart of.
