Just like the title says, it’s 5:00 a.m. and for some reason I can’t turn off my body to get some sleep. I’m thinking it’s because I did nothing but sleep Wednesday and then I really didn’t do anything Thursday (other than the trip to the dentist) so I didn’t use up any energy.
My brain knows I need to sleep, since Andy’s going back to work today and I’ll be left alone with the kids…but I just can’t turn my body off and relax enough to sleep. Every time I almost get good and comfortable, my face will itch or start to hurt a little bit and then I’m pretty much wide awake again. It’s a horrible circle I’m stuck in.
I actually got both kids to sleep at a decent time last night which meant I could’ve went in our bedroom and actually slept with Andy…but I didn’t because I would’ve just kept him up all night with my tossing and turning. So I’ve been sitting here in the kids’ room watching reruns of Modern Family and looking up random things I’ve been curious to try for the blog or podcast.
Since I’m not getting any sleep tonight, I’m hoping that at least after lunch I can get both kids to take their nap at the same time [and that Junior will go down pretty easy for his nap] so then I can take one with them. Otherwise I’ll be up until regular bedtime around 1130/midnight (since it’s Friday A.J knows we stay up later).
Fuck you guys! How do you all turn off your insomnia and actually get a decent night’s sleep?? I swear it’s starting to seem like once or twice a week I’m staying up all night and day because I just can’t turn off my brain and my body won’t relax enough for me to pass out.
It’s to the point where I’m actually considering asking my doctor about some kind of sleep aid because I can’t get but so tired during the day since I have the kids…which means I HAVE to get a full nights sleep.
So if you guys have any tips, tricks, or even products that help you fall asleep on nights when your body doesn’t really want to relax let me now about them in the comments below! I’m dying to find something that could help me.
